SEGA Summer Happening 2011: An Outdoor Ministry Experience For All Ages

Though already unofficially dubbed "SEGA-Palooza" or "SEGA-Stock," the officially named SEGA Summer Happening 2011 promises to be a unique opportunity for all in our area to gather for Christian fellowship, worship, and spiritual growth.  Set on the beautiful grounds of Camp Mo-Val in Union, Missouri, this summer event invites SEGA folk of all ages to join together around the theme "Got Spirit?  Finding God in the Every Day."  Together we will explore ways in which we can each seek a closer relationship with God through the spiritual practices of wonder, hospitality, gratitude, and generosity.

The main event runs from Wednesday August 3 until Saturday August 6, but there are also options for participants to choose what works best for their schedules.  Senior High youth are invited to arrive on Tuesday the 2nd for an extra day of activities.  Other youth, adults and families are invited to come for the Wednesday to Saturday event or may choose to come just for a 24-hour stay (three meals and an overnight) or just for a day (which includes meals but no overnight).  A wide variety of activities will be available for all ages including Bible study, guest speakers, swimming, worship, boating, archery, crafts, music, and nature walks.  Much of the programming will be provided by resident "experts" from our SEGA congregations, each sharing their unique gifts and skills with us all.

It is our hope that this event will become a new tradition for our area -- an opportunity to truly be the Church in all its diversity as we join together to welcome the movement of God's Spirit in our lives.
